Having worked with Shelby for years for competition obedience I was sad to see her move to Chicago. Shelby is excellent at problem solving with concise explanation, having an arsenal of resources under her belt. Ive been nothing but delighted with the rest of the crew as well. Scott and Mike are not only skilled decoys but able to explain what is put in practice clearly, and in laments terms. Tara offers outstanding advice and reassurance when navigating competition and everyday life scenarios.

I can’t recommend the entire team at Akela enough! From day one, they were amazing to work with. Professional, kind, and incredibly clear about what the board and train process would look like. Communication was top-notch, and I received regular photo and video updates of my pup settling in and making progress, which gave me such peace of mind. What stood out most was how they treated my dog as if he were one of their own. The love and care they show for every dog is obvious, and it made the whole experience feel personal and trustworthy. Since completing the board and train program, we’ve continued working with them through private sessions and are utilizing their boarding services as we leave town. It’s comforting to know he’s not only in good hands but also somewhere he’s genuinely happy and cared for. 100% recommend!
