Aft Dog Training

The trainers at AFT taught me and my dog Cleo how to make her a more confident and in tune dog. Prior to working with AFT, she was afraid of other dogs and individuals. Now she loves to meet and greet new people and cannot get enough of meeting new dog and cat friends. Without the AFT trainers, we would have a dog who would constantly be afraid of her own shadow! Thanks for all you have done for Miss Cleo and for teaching our family how to best care for our little girl!

AFT has been nothing but wonderful in getting our Dexter the training that he needs! A few months after adopting our sweet boy, he developed leash reactivity to other dogs. Unfortunately, this was not an issue I’d be able to handle on my own, and immediately contacted AFT. After taking Dexter for the consultation, I knew right away that these were the trainers I would trust to help him! Camille and Anthony are so professional, knowledgeable and truly amazing at what they do. Dexter and I both learned so much in our 6 weeks of Basic Obedience Training and I am very much so looking forward to starting the E-Collar Training Class. I am very happy to say Dexter can now confidently walk past other dogs on leash with much improvement and less reactivity, and he continues to improve on each walk we take! I had my six appointments set up for dog training, I was ask to bring treats and payment! The man I met with said after and hour of talking that he would email his recommendations!! I was charged $100 for a consult that I was never told about, and in the email that $100 could be put towards training! The email came a week later...a week later.....and his recommendations was the 3 week board and train for $3600!!!! Who has that kind of money laying around!! I was very upset that I was charged $100 for absolutely nothing!! I do not recommend this place at all!!

Let me start by saying that I was nothing less than extremely hesitant to bring my dog here. I love her more than anything and the idea of using "aversive training methods" broke my heart. After back and forth conversation with AFT, I decided to at least do a consultation and go from there. At our consultation, Anthony talked to us about his passion for rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and giving them a second chance at life. After we spoke with him, we knew that we would be happy there. We opted for private training because we wanted to be involved every step of the process. We chose tools that worked for our dog, not for us. Camille worked with our dog to determine what level she needed for her ecollar (it's a 5 by the way, out of 100.) Anthony constantly supported us and encouraged us to do extra training with our dog and she thrives for it. We went there with a dog that was scared of every person and didn't know where she ranked in our hierarchy to a dog that has so much confidence. She loves to perform tricks for people she doesn't know now as it gives her confidence and less fear. We can walk her in a heel without her leash and let her loose in the yard and know that she'll come back. Anthony and Camille saved our dog from her eventually anxiety attack she was bound to have and built an even stronger relationship for us with her. If you fear aversive training methods like I did, take the time to visit and have a consultation. Put the prong collar on yourself and see that with proper training methods, we aren't hurting our babies.
