Advanced K-Nine Training

We got our Czech German Shepard at 8 weeks and she was very agressive and disobediant after 5 months. That all went away after Mike at K-9 Advance came along and saved us. She was a hellion land shark. She was a totally different dog after Mike helped us. I now can have her off leash walking right at my side around the blocks of our house. She will stay in the front yard off leash. Really a saving grace for our family. She is now 10 months and the best behaved dog. We are going back for protective training and service dog training. The pricing was great compared to others as well and well worth it. Thank you Mike for making our shark not so much of a shark!

I took my dog for the 5 day leash training a few months ago and was very happy with the results! The training of course doesn’t end with what they teach, it took time at home but after a few weeks my dog was responding very well to the commands inside and outside. Now walks are a breeze and i can control my dog from eating trash and barking at other dogs/things. I’m so glad I spent the time and money on this training it was the perfect fit for us!

Warning - read my review before signing a contract. I am disappointed, frustrated, and upset (with myself) that I decided to board and train my 16-week and 17-week-old Chihuahua puppies with Mike. I signed the contract and paid upfront as a leap of faith. Note: there are no "progress," "results," or "working on" command videos of our puppies on Facebook. However, their photos are being used as advertisements. I explicitly communicated our priorities. None of them were me and the struggle continued. The worry, frustration, salvaging the training they received, cleaning up accidents, laundry, etc., is not how I want to spend my time. I was hopeful as Mike continued to extend their training time (from 12 days to 25 days) from August 14 to September 7. However, this amount of time did not make a difference. The results are unacceptable. Go elsewhere! Before dropping them off, I stated our priorities in my email: 1) potty training, 2) one puppy is eating feces, and 3) learning the word no. I work from home and monitor them. They are confined to one area in our open-concept home because they are not potty trained. They have no concept of the word "no" or "leave it." I understood my responsibility and the principle that they are only trained "50%" when they leave; the owners must continue the training and follow-up. If I have a hot dog treat in my hand, they understand - with me, sit, and one puppy will occasionally down. Mike told me the other puppy wouldn't get the down command - I understood, and this wasn't an issue. They will climb but have to be coaxed and monitored closely. They have accidents in the house at least four times a day (each) after coming home to us. On the furniture, on the floor, and in their crates. We take them outside if there is any notable indication of them needing to potty (in addition to the schedule provided.) One is still going after and eating feces unless I get to it first. They are still puppy-biting us, even when we use the no, correction, command instructions. They are puppies, and I'm not "mad" at them - they need proper training to break these habits. I would have rather been told they were not responding to the training than miss 25 days of "puppy cuteness" we'll never get back, along with dashed hopes that I could enjoy the puppies more when they came home. I held out hope they were testing us at home, and things would get better. They did not. We went to Mike privately first, and the solution he offered was the follow-up training sessions to get them back on track. The hour follow-up sessions will not solve the problems of potty training and eating feces. We can say the commands leave it and no a million times as instructed with no response. We could have gone to PetSmart for leash walking and sit (sometimes down for one puppy). The climb command will likely improve as we keep up the training. I did my homework and read all the positive reviews and watched the videos. Bottom line: the return on our investment was unacceptable. This review isn't personal and isn't about finances. We understood and signed the contract, yet the results are inferior. We did not receive the promised service. If you have a small dog or a difficult dog, I strongly do not recommend Advanced K-Nine Training. For easy-to-train motivated dogs, I still recommend looking elsewhere. This is the last step in this nightmare and goes in the live and learn file.

We received recommendation for Advanced K9 training with Mike through a co-worker. We put our Golden Mountain Doodle in the 12 day training. We were having issues with Herschel being aggressive toward our daughters service dog and taking commands in general. His (Place) or Climb command was excellent. Herschel will many times put himself in “Place”. Mike was able to give good advice to the humans and excellent training for Herschel.
