Academy of Canine Behavior

Absolutely appalled by my experience at Academy of Canine Behavior. It started off taking my puppy to daycare for her into session, upon walking in the staff member immediately said no and this place is not for my dog. The staff member claimed that since she was scared they didn’t want to give her a bad experience at day care… I guess that doesn’t count them spraying the dogs in the face with water and vinegar. They claim they spray in their mouth but I watched the staff spray it at the dogs faces for simply standing by a door. I guess using simple term of “move back” got lost at this place. Not worth it.

I took 2 dogs for boarding for 2 weeks. A Dobie & small cheweini with food. They charged me $2k even though they shared a site. Asked if I wanted them walked & of course I said yes & they said included. Charged me $250/ dog for walking. Front desk person was very vague & not really up-front about fees. Did this place change hands? They are MUCH different than they used to be. Very $ oriented now. NEVER again. My vet I have discovered, would charge $970 w/4/5 walks :Dey included. Next time….

Extremely disappointed in Academy of Canine Behavior. We booked a board and train with them over 4 months ago, ensuring at the time that they'd have multiple days of training during the ~10 days they were there. Again at drop off, we made sure this was the case, and even were asked and agreed to add some free play days for the days they weren't being trained. Upon picking them up this evening, they didn't do any of the training at all. We drove an hour each way (a total of 4 hours between drop off and pickup) and paid 2x as much as our normal boarding, with the ONLY purpose being to have the training while they were boarded. When I brought this up, the person at the desk was completely unconcerned and unapologetic, blaming "the new person who checked them in that didn't do the paperwork". Besides verifying this with them multiple times when booking and at check in, the apparently new person at check in was being helped by someone else to ensure they did everything right. This isn't a new hires fault - It's institutionalized incompetence at every step in their processes. We originally had a great experience when we did our training here, but were hesitant to return after videos surfaced shortly after of trainers hitting dogs with bats. However we opted to board here one other time a few years later when we had no other option, and both dogs ended up getting kennel cough. After giving them a third chance and now this, we won't be back. Terrible place. Take your pets elsewhere.
