Professional and extremely knowledgeable. I dropped Thorn off for a one-month board and train with off leash training. I received daily updates with pictures and met with him weekly to see his progress and learn how to continue his training. His confidence has improved dramatically, his reactivity is much better, and I now have a safer, more confident dog. She also offers follow-up training if any issues come up. 100000% recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an excellent experience with Above the Standard Dog Training. Emily runs a truly top-notch program, and Jim was incredible with our dog, Dune. He was patient, compassionate, and brought out the very best in him. Before training, Dune was having a hard time adjusting to our home in Florida. He seemed nervous, anxious, and very stressed—especially around other dogs—and never seemed fully comfortable in our house. Jim worked with him so calmly and thoughtfully, and we saw positive changes almost immediately. Dune came home calmer, more confident, and much more at ease in his environment. We also can’t say enough good things about Jen. Dune hadn’t been able to be groomed by a professional groomer in over five years because of his anxiety, but Jen was able to groom him right away. She was calm, patient, compassionate, and made what we thought would be an impossible experience look effortless. Working with Above the Standard hasn’t just transformed Dune—it has made a tremendous difference for our entire family. We feel supported, understood, and finally have the tools to help Dune live a happier, more relaxed life. The care, expertise, and compassion this team shows is truly exceptional. We cannot recommend Above the Standard enough. Over the last 5 years, The Rescue Express has sent more than 25 dogs to Emily and her team for training, first at their NJ location and now in FL. They have played a crucial role in helping so many of our rescue dogs become ready for adoption — especially the more challenging dogs that may otherwise never have found homes. We have two Golden Doodles boys that are litter mates. We brought them to Above the Standard for training. They did a very thorough job training the dogs and us. It has made such a difference in our boys. The escaping the yard, fighting to walk them are all things of the past. They follow up after the training to make sure any questions you have are answered. Another huge benefit of them is they will board your dog if they trained them. Now anytime we travel I just text and they take care of me. The dogs get so excited when we pull up to drop them off. It is like summer camp for them. No guilty feeling when I leave them to go out of town like other places I have boarded dogs before. They love going to see Jim for a visit.
