Looking for a powerful jumpstart to your dog’s training journey? Our 3-Week Bark Board & Train program offers immersive training tailored to your dog’s specific needs—all while they stay with our professional trainer in a home-like environment. This program is designed for dogs who need focused attention on obedience, manners, and behavioral improvement, without needing to attend daily sessions. Your dog will learn: • Basic obedience: Sit, Down, Place, Recall, and leash walking • Crate training and calm settling behavior • Engagement and focus with their handler • Real-world reliability—learning to respond in different environments and distractions • Exposure to various settings, people, and sounds for better social adaptability Unlike daycare or casual boarding, this is a structured training stay with daily sessions, rest periods, and tailored behavioral work designed to help your dog succeed outside the training setting too. 📚 Owner Involvement: We believe in preparing you just as much as your dog. You’ll receive two 1-hour private lessons during the program to equip you with the knowledge and tools to maintain your dog’s progress at home. You’ll also receive a 1-hour in-home follow-up session to reinforce success in your environment. We use a balanced training approach with humane tools such as prong or e-collars (based on your dog’s needs), ensuring clear communication and lasting change—not punishment. Note: This program is not suitable for dogs with severe aggression, intense resource guarding, or extreme fear. An additional training week can be added for $1,000 if needed. · Listed price: $3,350.00

For dogs with deeper behavioral challenges, the 5-Week Bark Board & Train program offers a more intensive and customized experience. This program includes: • Obedience foundation: Sit, Down, Place, Recall, and leash manners • Crate training, calmness around triggers, and behavior modification • E-collar and prong collar conditioning (if appropriate for your dog) • Confidence building and exposure to real-life distractions • Structured rest and reinforcement periods to avoid stress and burnout This extended program allows your dog to not just learn but internalize new behaviors and routines. 📚 Owner Involvement: You’ll receive three 1-hour private lessons during the training to understand your dog’s progress and learn how to continue the training at home. After graduation, you’ll also get a 1-hour in-home follow-up session to support long-term success and smooth transition back into your lifestyle. We follow a modern, balanced training approach, using humane tools and clear communication to guide your dog into making better choices. Our goal is to build trust, clarity, and consistent behavior that lasts well beyond training. 🚫 Note: Training tools are not included. If you’re looking for a place you can trust with your dog like family, A Bark Away NJ is it. I’ve used A Bark Away NJ for boarding many times, and I honestly don’t think I would ever feel comfortable leaving my dog anywhere else. From day one, Criselda made my boy Hendrix feel like he was part of her own family. That peace of mind is priceless. The daily videos she sends say it all you can truly see the love, patience, and care she puts into creating a beautiful, kind, and structured environment for the dogs. She makes time to give each dog individual attention while also helping them socialize and play together in such a positive way. It’s not just boarding it’s a real family atmosphere. Hendrix always comes home happy, balanced, and well cared for. That tells me everything I need to know. Need I say more? You just have to give it a try for yourself your little buddy will thank you!🙌🏿

If you’re looking for professional dog training in New York or New Jersey, Bark Away NJ is the real deal. We worked with them for our 6 month old cavapoo puppy, and the transformation has been incredible. Before training, our puppy pulled nonstop on the leash, jumped on every person she saw, reacted to every single dog, and would scream bloody murder in her crate. Walks were stressful, parks were overwhelming, and crate time felt impossible. We knew we needed structured, professional help and Bark Away NJ delivered. Now? She walks beautifully on leash, greets people politely, and can stay calm around other dogs. Crate time is peaceful. It honestly feels like we have a completely different dog. The biggest win is that we barely even have to use the e-collar anymore. It’s there as a communication tool and for safety at parks or higher-distraction environments, but most of the time she responds reliably without it. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of the training. What really stands out is how balanced and practical their approach is. They didn’t just “train the dog” they taught us how to communicate clearly and confidently. The structure, consistency, and accountability made all the difference. If you’re searching for Cavapoo training, puppy obedience training, leash reactivity training, crate training help, or e-collar training in NJ or NY, Bark Away NJ is absolutely worth it. We’re located in NY and would recommend them to anyone serious about having a well-behaved, reliable family dog. Professional, knowledgeable, and results-driven. Five stars, no question.

After recently moving to Jersey City we initially had trouble finding an experienced handler to work with our reactive female Shepherd. Luckily we finally found A Bark Away! Couldn’t recommend more highly. From the start Criselda approached working with our dog in a way that made us feel totally comfortable, quickly working up to ability to independently enter our home and take her out for walking and training. We have seen great results with our dogs ability to be around other dogs with less barking/reactivity. Lots of fun play videos too! Criselda is extremely reliable and easy to communicate with. We are lucky to have found A Bark Away!

Criselda has been a huge help with our anxious, reactive and energetic German shepherd. It’s been such a relief to know that our dog is in capable, experienced and confident hands (qualities that are unfortunately hard to find in walkers and trainers!) and getting the daily exercise and consistent exposure to other dogs that she needs. Our dog is always happy and excited to see her, and it’s clear from the frequent photos and videos that they truly have a lot of fun together. We trust Criselda and her superior dog-handling skills, and we look forward to continuing to work with her.

Criselda has been a great help training my dog as we prepared to welcome a new baby. Her calm, patient approach and clear guidance on using a slip lead leash made a big difference in keeping our dog focused during walks. She also taught us the “place” command, which has been effective to help him stay calm and settled inside the house. We're grateful for her help and would recommend her to anyone looking for thoughtful, results-driven training.
